Charlotte Van Geyte (1998 - BE) is an architect with a fascination for the interaction between body and environment. In her thesis

or 'Consciousness', she makes experimental walks, always starting from instructions such as wearing a walking-house, to move through the environment in a different way. In this way she aims to become sensitive to certain intensities in the environment, such as sights, smells, sounds, movements and thoughts. Noticing those specific elements; seeing a dangling branch or feeling a piece of string in your pocket, is crucial for the development of an idea. The preceding image does not exist. The idea develops along the way, in transit, and always arises from a particular moment through certain elements in that environment. An action or artifact, such as the proposed object from the series 'Found/Lost Object', arises from such an idea and is, in that sense, a reaction rather than an action. This exercise is a way of recognizing what has become invisible through habituation. Becoming aware of the environment can thus be a start to (re)appreciating it. In this way, an attitude can be developed in which a sense of care and responsibility for the environment is central.
